Field Service Technician
Job Summary
The Field Service Technician will install, troubleshoot, diagnose, evaluate, maintain, and repair fluid handling equipment such as centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, steam turbines, fans, compressors, blowers, and other industrial machinery.
Duties and Responsibilities
Remove, disassemble, repair, reassemble and re-install equipment
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment and systems
Ability to use various precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, tri-mics, ID gauges, standards, etc. and accurately measure sizes to 0.0005” tolerance.
Ability to operate tools and equipment such as: Hydraulic Torque Wrenches, Hydraulic pullers and presses, torches, balance machine, forklifts, overhead cranes, etc..
Ability to read and understand technical documentation as well as policies and procedures.
Document necessary information on work orders, such as equipment information, causes of failure, description of problems, parts required for repair or installation
Read and comprehend general arrangement drawings, sectional drawings, exploded views, parts list, and O & M manuals
Perform startups of mechanical equipment and check for proper operation
Keep worksites clean, organized, and secure
Other duties as assigned by management
Adhere to all company and client policies
Required Skills and Abilities
High mechanical aptitude
Critical thinking and problem solving
Understand concepts of shaft alignment
Traditional Machine shop experience
Excellent verbal and written communication
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to lift 75 lbs unassisted
Travel required
Need to have, or be ready to acquire a TWIC card within 30 days of hire
Need to have, or be ready to acquire OSHA 10 training within 30 days of hire
Thorough background check and drug screening will be performed prior to employment
Starting pay is commensurate with experience
